My musical training started at age nine with the trumpet.  At age sixteen I picked up guitar and piano.  During high school and college I played in various size groups from small combos to large ensembles covering styles from jazz to rock to blues to classical to folk to country get the idea.  During the 70's and 80's the exigencies of earning a living put studying and performing music in second place.  In the early 90's, while living in Washinton, D.C., I decided to pursue music as a full time project.  In 1994 I received an AA degree in Classical Guitar (Summa Cum Laude) from Northern Virginia Community College in Arlington, Virginia while studying with Max Sadtler.  After receiving my degree I began studying with Jad Azkoul, and worked with Jad for fifteen months.  When Jad returned to Switzerland I began work on a Master degree in Classical Performance at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia; studying with Jeff Meyerriecks.  In 1994 I started NJC Music ( Not Just Classical Music )as a vehicle for teaching and writing / arranging music for the guitar.  I returned to the Shenango Valley (in Western Pennsylvania) in September 2000, and started West Ridge Music Experience as a means to connect with other musicians for performance.  I currently teach at Marks Music in Hermitage, Pennsylvania (see lessons link for information about Marks Music).
